Electronic Poker is a popular game that usually will be gambled on in casinos across the world, or in your house on your PC, using a net account. The rules are absolutely straightforward and consist of the player trying to get the highest combination of cards possible in order to come away with money. In this respect it is very similar as a normal game of poker, apart from the line of contact with any other players. Of course, tactics employed during a physical game of poker, such as bluffing, will be irrelevant in Video Poker.

The game of Electronic Poker starts when the enthusiast puts credits (either tokens, tickets or cash) into the machine and pushes the deal button. A hand of five cards will then be electronically ‘distributed’ on the screen.

The Video Poker machine also has hold buttons, and bettors should now choose which cards to hold and which to discard. For the cards the enthusiast would like to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons must be pressed so that they light up. The player can decide to keep any amount of cards they want, from all to none.

After the gambler has selected which cards she would like to retain, they should press ‘draw’, which will mean that any new cards will be given out if desired. The game is now finished, with the Video Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands printed on the payment schedule.

Normally, the minimum winning hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money getting larger for each and every better hand. A list of common winning hands starts with jacks or better, moving on to 2 pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It goes without saying that the pay out schedule can range from game to game, so that knowledgeable gamblers are agile enough to choose the most beneficial game each time.

Once the first round has finished, the player can either decide to continue on in an attempt to increase their earnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any credits that they may have won. Additionally, several versions of the game allow the player a chance to increase their winnings, in which instance another hand is played. There are also variations between individual machines, with some virtual decks having wild cards and other differing elements to enhance playability.
